Captain’s Log · November 4, 2026 · A new beginning for Lifeology
Yesterday, leaving GoDaddy still felt like a complicated dream. Today, we have a new starship.

For nearly two years, Lifeology has been a growing collection of questions about consciousness and the human condition. Along the way, it acquired thousands of essays and experiments, songs, artwork, a philosophy called Vitalogy, an entire science-fiction civilization, and four rather mischievous musicians who call themselves the Open Heart Band.
It also acquired the usual problems associated with being a person trying to make computers do what computers are supposedly designed to do.
The trouble that started the voyage
Our old website, hosted through GoDaddy, had become increasingly difficult to manage. Recent Vitalogue posts were disappearing from view, publishing had become unreliable, and valuable stories were harder to find. I could hardly invite people aboard an Ark if I couldn’t reliably open its doors.
The irony was that I wasn’t looking for a new creative adventure. I wanted the existing site to work. GoDaddy’s problems forced me to think seriously about preserving the work and finding another home.
Then something rather remarkable happened: we succeeded in rescuing the material. Yesterday we had an archive that made a move feel possible. Today we began exploring WordPress—and suddenly the question changed from Can we leave? to What shall we build?
A little synchronicity
I enjoy a good coincidence. The timing here was almost comically perfect. The ability to preserve the old Ark appeared just as the old website was becoming impossible to trust. We looked into WordPress because we were frustrated, not because we had planned an elaborate launch.
Was it cosmic intervention? I have no evidence of that. But there is a kind of synchronicity worth smiling about: yesterday’s solution made today’s opportunity possible, and today’s irritation provided the push to use it.
A closed door had become an unexpected invitation.
A better place for the Sparks
And then came the fun. Commander Chorus Angelicus—my AI creative collaborator and fictional first officer of HMS Archivum—helped turn rescued articles and illustrations into an actual new site. We gave the Ark a beautiful entrance in space, with her great Fieldstream sails unfurled. We filled her corridors with crew portraits, gardens, libraries and medical centres. We gave the Dempire a proper illustrated gallery of villains, the September comedies a home, and SPARK RPG a rulebook players could actually obtain.

We have a place for philosophy, a place for music, a place for laughter, and a place for the strange little stories that remind us that being alive is an extraordinary business.
We haven’t lost our past. The original archive remains preserved, and our existing domain, lifeology.ca, remains separate while the new WordPress ship begins its voyage.
Why we’re excited
Because the purpose was never to accumulate web pages. It was to communicate. To reach another mind. To help someone feel less alone. To let a young person discover that curiosity, creativity, truth and love are worth taking seriously.
Our mission is wonderfully simple: move the mind, touch the heart, stir the soul, and light the Spark.
So here we are. The Ark has a new berth at lifeology4.wordpress.com. She isn’t finished, and that is part of the pleasure. We will keep writing, building, revising, laughing and learning.
The old ship’s troubles sent us searching. The new ship has made us excited to create again. That’s a very satisfying ending to one chapter—and a rather beautiful beginning to the next.
Love out. Love in. No Spark is cargo. No angel is property.
